Welcome to Cricklewood Equestrian
Cricklewood Equestrian is located 15 minutes south of Hobart at Leslie Vale, on the way to the glorious Huon Valley and the great Southern Wilderness areas.
We also retail a specialised range of equestrian products including: Leather Therapy; Bionic Gloves and Equilibrium Products. We pride ourselves on the high quality and technical advances of the products we sell.
We are in the exciting phase of establishing Tasmania’s first Hanoverian Stud under the Stud Prefix - Roi's Park. We are starting small and slowly to ensure we get the best beginnings and build the stud up from a solid basis.
Like many small equestrian businesses, both of us work ‘real’ jobs – to keep the bills paid and the horses fed! Paul is a director of a large community service organisation and senior human resource manager and Francine works in human resources and industrial relations.
Apart from our horses, our four legged family at Cricklewood includes ‘Toby of Cricklewood’ – our wonderful 3 year old Chocolate Labrador – who only now seems to have stopped eating our boots! We are also lucky to have ‘Piper’ – our 2year old female tricolour Collie Rough. Between the two of these canines we no longer have a rabbit plague but we do have a house full of dog hair. We are all owned by a ridiculously cute Tonkinese that goes by the deceptive name of 'Daisy'.
We also have interests in Thoroughbred racing. We bred and own a 4 year old filly by Fraar out of a Military Plume mare, which races under the name of Gold Wraith - pictured here as a yearling. She is leased and trained by John Blacker in Longford and has had 2 wins and 7 places from 18 starts. This delightful filly has inherited her dam's amazing temperament and both her mother and sire's toughness. We also own a lovely Danzig line mare, Grisbi, who was a talented racehorse in her own right. Grisbi is in foal to Benicio - a son of More Than Ready - and due in October.
We enjoy life here at Cricklewood surrounded by our four legged family and do what we can to give back to the equestrian community.
